I have been contacted by two schools that are interested in school
gardens. The information is as follows.

(1) A day care located in central Phoenix is looking to do school
gardening. They have a unique situation, they have no soil, so all
their growing will have to be done in containers. I have given them
the information on the Container Gardening Class that is being
offered by the Master Gardeners. What they are interested in is how
to get started and what would do best in containers. They have
received a grant to have a local artist come in and paint a mural for
them. The Mural is dedicated to nature so now they want a garden. If
anyone is interested in working with this day care please contact me
so I can exchange contact information. The name of the day care is
City of Phoenix Day Care Center.

(2) This is for the East side folks! A new school in Copper Basin
(out Hunt Hwy near Johnson Ranch) is interested in putting in a
school garden. They have lots of room! They also want to put in a
composting bin. I am taking them some information and looking over
the site next Monday (Oct. 16th). I will have more information after
this. Please contact me if you are interested.
