The Mount Graham red squirrel and The Pinaleño Mountains have been at the center of considerable controversy since the 1980's due to the construction of an astrophysical observatory complex on one of the highest peaks in the range.   Information on the facility, the Mt. Graham International Observatory (MGIO), and the controversy surrounding it is not addressed in this web site.   However, we conducted a general web search at the time our site was constructed (Fall 2001) and the following links represent those organizations most frequently found.
