Ramin is one of the founding members of the University of Arizona Collaborative for Diversity, a forum for faculty, graduate students and professional staff to exchange ideas for improving the retention and graduation rates of low-income and under-represented students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). As a leader of this initiative, Ramin has been instrumental in teaching and mentoring at-risk undergraduate students by helping place students in research labs and by teaching a course on research readiness for STEM majors. He is also a co-PI on a pending NSF proposal that would support the Arizona Science, Engineering, and Mathematics Scholars Program.
