2009 Deciduous Fruit Tree Pruning Workshops

It’s fruit tree pruning season and The University of Arizona Cooperative Extension, Yavapai County is offering two free deciduous fruit tree pruning demonstrations conducted by Extension Agent, Jeff Schalau. Come and learn why, when, and how to prune your backyard fruit trees. Demonstrations will cover apples, pears, plums, peaches, nectarines, cherries, and more. Fertilization, irrigation and fruit thinning will also be discussed.

10:00 AM Saturday February 7, 2009, at the Kleck home, 575 S. Gloria Lane in Cornville.
Directions: from the intersection of Cornville Road and Page Springs Road (Casey’s Corner), go ¼ mile north on Page Springs Road and turn left into Melgo Estates at Hart Lane, take the first right onto Louise Lane, turn left on Peartree Dr. then right onto Gloria Lane, 575 Gloria Lane will be on the right.

10:00 AM Saturday February 28, 2009, at the McLandress Home, 850 S. Maricopa St, Chino Valley
Directions: take Hwy 89 north to Chino Valley, turn west on Road 2 South, continue about 1.3 miles and turn right (north) on Maricopa St. The McLandress home is the fourth developed property on the left.
