State and Countywide Programs Master Gardener Frank Martin tells educators how to garden with native plants.   Several exciting programs have been implemented by the University of Arizona that underscore the mission of Arizona 4-H Youth Gardening. Designed to support youth leaders, these programs offer focused training and activities with an emphasis on horticulture, agriculture and the environment. New programs are continually being developed; please check this site regularly for updates. Ag-Ventures The Maricopa Agricultural Center (MAC Farm) offers a variety of agricultural literacy outreach programs for all ages. Agricultural Literacy Program Designed to assist educators who wish to incorporate information about agriculture in the subjects they already teach. Arizona 4-H The youth development program of the University of Arizona CALS and Cooperative Extension. Arizona Digging Deeper Integrating youth gardens into schools and communities; includes guidelines for curriculum and program assessment. Arizona Junior Master Gardener Program Multi-level hands-on activities in horticulture, nutrition and environmental education as well as leadership and life skills. Growing Awareness Youth Gardening Conference An annual event that provides a dynamic combination of learning, resources and networking opportunities. Project Learning Tree Project Wet An interdisciplinary water education program providing K-12 teaching aids. Summer Agriculture Institute A 5-day program which teaches educators about food and fiber production so they can use this knowledge in the classroom.
