SCV symptoms on Chenopodium amaranticolor
Symptoms on Chenopodium amaranticolor inoculated with wild type viral RNA and infectious transcripts
-
Young C. amaranticolr leaves were inoculated with same amount of SCV viral RNA (left leaf) and
SCV transcripts synthesized in vitro. For transcript synthesis, infectious cDNA clone pSCV15 was linearized
with AflII restriction enzyme. Run-off transcripts were prepared using T7 RNA polymerase. No cap-analog
was added to the in vitro synthesis. Both viral RNA and transcripts were inoculated with GKP buffer
containing celite. Symptoms were recorded four days after inoculation. This picture shows that the infectious transcripts
are as infectious as the purified viral RNA.
