Painting, plumbing, electric & carpentry repairs – expect everything from clogged sinks, drains and garbage disposals to resetting circuit breakers, replacing cord caps, buffer switches and light switches; minor repairs to heating, refrigeration, air conditioning units and other electrical equipment; repairs damaged walls and doors; paints inside and outside building walls; replaces windows; refinishes and repairs furniture. Got a background in business, accounting, finance and human resources – and want to add your skillset to our roster here at the Arboretum? We’re hiring for the second most senior position on our staff, seeking an excellent new employee to oversee accounting, budgeting, personnel and related tasks. Our new Assistant Director for Business and Finance will work closely with Director Sy Sohmer to oversee and coordinate BTA’s business, finance, personnel and operations - helping promote a work environment that emphasizes integrity, research, service - and the mission that has guided BTA for 80 years . In addition to supervising, coaching, and mentoring staff and overseeing their work, the new Second-In-Command must be committed to forging close ties with Arizona State Parks to foster the management partnership which started in 1976 when BTA was added to the state park system. Personnel duties include overseeing payroll, recruiting and hiring; interviews, and ensuring compliance with University of Arizona policies. Our new hire will also serve as an ‘ambassador’ for the Arboretum – and also for the University of Arizona, and UA’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
