Food Safety

When pursuing this path students are prepared to help protect the public from food borne illnesses, and to monitor the national food supply along the entire supply or value chain. Students will be prepared for careers in animal health and meat inspection, inspection of non-meat food products, detection of food-borne pathogens, bio-terrorism, and other aspects that ensure the stability and reliability of a trusted food system.
