POLICIES:

Incomplete Grades:

Incomplete grades will not be given except in isolated circumstances and according to University policy as stated on page 27 of "The University of Arizona Record--98-99 General Catalog."

Absences and Late Work:

Students are expected to attend all classes and to submit assignments, papers, projects and presentations on or before the due dates.

Unexcused absences and late work will be reflected in the instructor’s evaluation of the student’s performance as follows:

  1. Assignments which are submitted late will be reduced in value by 10% for each subsequent class meeting not submitted.

  2. Ten percent (10%) of the total points available for the course will be subtracted for each unexcused absence.

In the event of a necessary absence (illness, etc.), it will be the student’s responsibility to so inform the instructor prior to class by calling 621-1523. It is not possible to contact the instructor prior to class, reasons for absences should be established prior to the start of class upon the first day the student returns to classes.

Two (2) absences will be considered excessive and reported by the instructor to the Dean of Students as per the statement in "The University of Arizona Record--98-99 General Catalog" p. 25.

Academic Integrity:

Please note that the university policy on academic integrity as described on page 18 of "The University of Arizona Record--98-99 General Catalog" will serve as the basis for dealing with any such issues in this course.

Special Needs and Accommodations:

Students needing special accommodations or special services should contact the Learning Disabilities Programs/SALT, Old Main Bldg., Room 117 (621-1242) and/or the Center for Disability Related Resources, Second and Cherry Streets (621-5227). The needs of specialized services must be documented and verified by one of these units. We will do everything we can to accommodate all students to enhance their learning experience, but we must know of special circumstances in advance.
