John and Doris Norton, alumni (’50) of the University of Arizona, pledged $4 million to the School of Family and Consumer Sciences. John Norton, a third generation Arizonan and a founder of J.R. Norton Company, served as Deputy Secretary of the United States Department of Agriculture during the Ronald Reagan administration. Long time supporters of the UA and recipients of numerous awards for outstanding accomplishments, John and Doris have built a successful family from what they have characterized as a foundation of love and parental support. In addition to solidifying the School’s place in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, John and Doris Norton’s generous gift will increase the School’s prestige at the UA and throughout the nation.
