Description

Unarmed trees to 18+ m all with odd once-pinnate leaves and umbels of flowers with long white stamens.

Habitat

The species ranges from Central America to northwestern South America as least as far south as Peru.

The species is cultivated for the edible pulp of its fruits and the trees are grown for shade.
