Ceremony Check In

On the day of the ceremony, graduating students will check in from 7:30 am - 8:15 am at the Women’s Plaza (west of Centennial Hall). Starting at 8:30 am students will begin to line up for the ceremony processional. Guests do not need to check in.

Bag Policy

Centennial Hall now requires bag checks for all individuals entering the building. Review the Centennial Hall bag policy to ensure you are in compliance on the day of the ceremony.

Centennial Hall opens at 8:00 am for general guest seating.

The ceremony begins at 9:00 am. All graduates will have their name called, walk the stage, shake hands with college administration and have their photo taken. The Doctoral and Master's Commencement will include hooding by faculty mentors for those earning terminal degrees.

Students will have two professional photographs taken: one as they walk across the stage, a second after they exit the stage. Information on how to obtain these photographs will be shared with students at check in.

The names of all graduating students who have completed and filed for degree candidacy will be printed in the Commencement program.

The ceremony is expected to last approximately 1.5 hours. The ceremony will end with a faculty recessional leading graduating students out of Centennial Hall.

All graduates and their guests are invited to a reception immediately following the Ceremony. The reception will be held outside, in front of the Arizona State Museum. Additional photo opportunities will be available. Light morning refreshments will be served.

We recommend parking at Tyndall Garage, a short walk from Centennial Hall. On-street parking is also available in the Main Gate neighborhood. Locate all parking options on the UA campus parking map.
