Jennifer Atteberry-Pierpont, M Ed. - Emerging Professional Award 2019

Jennifer Atteberry-Pierpont found her passion in high school when she enrolled in early childhood education at Canyon Del Oro High School. This led to a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Arizona in Family and Consumer Sciences Education in 2004 and then a Master of Education in Educational Leadership in 2018.

As an educator at Canyon Del Oro High School for 14 years, Jennifer held many roles. She was an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Teacher, Preschool Director (her program was ranked as the top ECE program in AZ and the first to earn a 5 star rating from AZ First Things First), the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department Head, and advisor and cooperating teacher for student teachers with the University of Arizona.  Jennifer has created, developed, and taught courses and workshops in child development, early childhood, preschool education, parenting and caregiving, as well as incorporating a multitude of hands-on-learning situations that enhance her presentations and courses.  Her expertise is valued by the AZ Department of Education’s Early Childhood Education Program.

Some of Ms. Atteberry-Pierpont’s notable accomplishments include: 2005 Outstanding New Teacher of the Year; 2008 Pima County Career and Technical Education Alumni Hall of Fame; 2012 FCCLA Spirit of Advising Award; 21012-13 Member of Arizona FCLA Board of Directors, 2013-14 Circle K University of Arizona Outstanding High School Faculty Finalist; 013 Amphitheater School Board recognition and commendation to Ms. Atteberry-Pierpont and her FCCLA students for outstanding state competition placing including 1st in the Early Childhood and Teach and Train events which led to national competitions; 2014 Arizona FACS ED Teacher of the year;  2016 Champion of First Things First Community Outreach for Pima Regions for Pima Southern Regional Partnership Council; 2017 Arizona FCCLA Conference Presenter; and in 2018 her students won top awards at the National FCCLA Conference in Nashville, Tennessee.

Jennifer is currently a Principal at Pima JTED Master Pieces Campus and oversees several Technical Education Programs including an Early Childhood Education Preschool Program.  She enjoys helping others and looks forward to furthering Career and Technical Education growth in southern Arizona.
