The Homecoming Luncheon is always a great way to reconnect with fellow alumni, friends and the Norton School faculty, past and present. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to meet the 2017 FCS Council Alumni and Faculty Award winners.
Awards are presented by Norton School students that have received a scholarship from the FCS Council. Council scholarships are made possible through the generosity of alumni and friends of the Norton School. Please consider making a contribution to the Council’s Scholarship Fund.
Each year, the Norton School of Family and Consumer Sciences’ Council of Alumni and Friends uses the annual Homecoming luncheon to recognize the outstanding achievements of Norton School graduates. This year we are pleased to recognize the contributions of Dr. Shirley Jo Taylor to both the Norton School and the Cooperative Extension Service. Dr. Taylor served as State 4-H Extension Specialist from 1980-2000. Dr. Taylor earned her bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees from the U of A. Her 4-H work focused on youth and adult leadership, volunteer management and the development of curriculum guides on clothing, consumer economics, food preservation and healthy adolescent relationships.
Alumni and friends of the Council will have an opportunity to recognize Dr. Taylor’s exceptional service to the U of A community by contributing to the Taylor Endowment Fund, established by Dr. Taylor and her late husband Ralph to support AmeriCorps students and other Externships assigned to Cooperative Extension programs. Cards and acknowledgements may be sent to Dr. Taylor in care of Gina McCann at the Norton School, 650 N Park Avenue, Tucson, AZ, 85721-0078.
This year’s Back to School Experience will feature presentations about programs and research related to the Cooperative Extension Service Family and Consumer Sciences’ initiatives.
