RESEARCH INTERESTS

  • Most generally, I am interested in couple and family relationships
  • More specifically, I am interested in both general stressors that are encountered by couples and individuals (e.g., financial constraints) and unique stressors that are encountered by couples and individuals in specific contexts (e.g., sexual minority stressors; the transition to parenthood; the transition to adulthood).
  • My primary research interest is to examine the mechanisms through which stressors are related to relational well-being, and to identify potential buffer for these stressors.
  • My goal is to integrate advanced statistical strategies to better understand the complexity in developmental processes for individuals, couples, and families.
    • I have conducted both person-centered analyses (e.g., Latent Transition Analysis and three-step Latent Class & Profile Analysis) and variable-centered analyses (e.g., Structural Equation Model and Multilevel Model).
    • I have used both null hypothesis significance tests (NHST) and Bayesian analyses.
