Surviving a Wildfire

During a wildfire, law enforcement officials may ask you to evacuate your home and community with little warning. Even if you are forced to evacuate your home in the event of a wildfire, there are some things you can do to help fire fighters defend it. Learn the precautions you can take now to defend your home and prepare for rapid evacuation in the event of a wildfire!

Montana State University Extension provides a guide to basic home and building evacuation procedures for citizens. A Citizen's Guide to Basic Evacuation Procedures: http://www.montana.edu/wwwpb/pubs/4448.html

Many of our Firewise publications may be ordered online by visiting CALSmart (http://pubs1.cals.arizona.edu/sales/find.cfm) and searching for "Fire".  For bulk order pricing, contact calsmart@cals.arizona.edu.
