Pima County School Superintendent’s Internship Program
This Internship Program is designed to give substantial real-life exposure to the duties and responsibilities of the elected Pima County School Superintendent as he and the office promote educational excellence through Leadership, Service and Collaboration.
Researching local, state, and national education policy, school finance, elections, and educational service programs will be part of the experience. A successful intern will be a highly-motivated individual who is team and project-oriented, as well as able to work independently with little guidance. The intern will be able to work quickly under pressure and respond to multiple demands at once.

Essential Duties and Learning Objectives:
Interns may work in all departments, including: political, policy, research, organizing, technology, operations, educational programs, and more. The intern will assist with Superintendent with specific work related to increasing understanding of legislative policy, application to daily tasks, and functions of the office and education systems through completing project-related tasks.
Interns can expect to learn and apply:
Critical thinking skills,
Research skills related to educational and legislative issues,
Workplace communication and decorum,
An understanding of the skills and knowledge needed for professional success,
An understanding of how elected officials and county schools operate,
And much more!

Who are we looking for?
Hardworking, motivated, passionate future leaders interested in gaining experience and involvement in county educational issues.
Students majoring in policy, politics, education, government, or other relevant coursework, in addition to those majoring in all other courses of study.
Those who have immediate availability and the capacity to intern for at least 20 hours per workweek.
Those who can be available for evening or weekend work, and those who can be able during normal business hours.
