  1. Human Resources

Official Volunteer = DCC (Designated Campus Colleague)

The University's Human Resources site provides additional detailed information for employees as well as affiliates or Designated Campus Colleagues (DCC).  Departments are responsible for maintaining DCCs within UAccess Manager Self Service and ensuring applicable agreements and forms are complete.  Master Gardeners and 4-H Leaders are two examples of volunteers or DCC's. To become an official volunteer or Designated Campus Colleague the DCC Worksheet needs to be completed.  Once the DCC Worksheet is completed the appropriate administrative support employee will enter the data in UAccess.Arizona.edu to initiate the approval process.

Please see the DCC Reference Guide on the necessary steps to become a Designated Campus Colleague. Four-H Leaders who have unsupervised contact with minors and drive on University business will need to have a fingerprint and DMV check.  Master Gardeners in our department are required to go to the Risk Management site and enroll in the driver registration course to drive on University business.

There are many benefits in becoming a DCC and one of those benefits is that a DCC, as an official volunteer, has liability coverage from the University.

There are several different types of DCC's.  Most DCC's in our department are Volunteers (4-H, MG, Dept., and Event) and Interns.  DCC Quick Reference Matrix provides short descriptions and services available for each DCC type and subcategory.  The DCC Worksheet is necessary for obtaining information needed to initiate DCC requests.  After the DCC Worksheet is entered in UAccess.Arizona.edu be sure to write the transaction number at the top of the Worksheet for reference.

  • Intermittent Occasional Volunteers (IOV) & Intern - Department DCC's.
    • Intermittent/Occasional Volunteer (IOV) Worksheet
    • Intermittent/Occasional Volunteer Agreement
  • Minors - Volunteers Under 18 Years of Age.  Departments should have DCC minors print their volunteer agreement, have both the DCC minor and a parent sign the agreement and then upload the signed agreement to their DCC Activities within UAccess Employee.
