Maricopa County Cooperative Extension Strategic Visioning Teams
Each team will set major goals in 5 year increments, establish methods to measure accomplishments and progress, recommend approaches to obtain goals, and provide quarterly reports.
Diversity & Inclusion
Set goals for increasing overall clientele numbers and improving on the diversity of our clientele. This may be in targeted program areas or for the entire office. Major goals should be in 5 year increments (e.g., increase diversity in total clientele contacts to better match county demographics by 2021), with targeted milestones (e.g., increase minority participation by 2% by July 1, 2017). Please make sure there are methods in place to measure our accomplishments and progress so that we can annually analyze where we are, where we hoped we would be, and make any appropriate changes if needed. Also identify needs and recommend approaches to obtain these goals. Teams will be expected to give quarterly reports at Staff meetings.
Marketing & Getting the Word Out
Set goals for more effectively marketing the programs and good work at MCCE. This may be through improved social media presence, better written material, etc. Major goals should be in 5 year increments (e.g., increase clientele awareness of other Extension programming, other than the one they are currently involved with, by 50% by 2021), with targeted milestones (e.g., increase clientele awareness of Extension programs by 10% by July 1, 2017). Please make sure there are methods in place to measure our accomplishments and progress so that we can annually analyze where we are, where we hoped we would be, and make any appropriate changes if needed. Also identify needs and recommend approaches to obtain these goals. Teams will be expected to give quarterly reports at Staff meetings.
Technology & Innovation
Set goals for assuring that the office and Extension programs at MCCE utilize the latest in technology and electronic innovation in order to more effectively meet the educational needs of the clientele, the University, and the grantors. This may be through a strict obsolescence plan for office computers or the development of an educational technology position. Major goals should be in 5 year increments (e.g., assure that at least 75% of MCCE employees are using computers no more than 3 years old by 2021), with targeted milestones (e.g., develop an obsolescence plan for the office by July 1, 2017). Please make sure there are methods in place to measure our accomplishments and progress so that we can annually analyze where we are, where we hoped we would be, and make any appropriate changes if needed. Also identify needs and recommend approaches to obtain these goals. Teams will be expected to give quarterly reports at Staff meetings.
Improved Office Workability
Set goals for improving office workability – making MCCE a place where people want to come and work. This may be through better faculty-staff communication, a better work environment, etc. Major goals should be in 5 year increments (e.g., increase MCCE worker satisfaction to 80% by 2021), with targeted milestones (e.g., develop an employee satisfaction survey by July 1, 2017). Please make sure there are methods in place to measure our accomplishments and progress so that we can annually analyze where we are, where we hoped we would be, and make any appropriate changes if needed. Also identify needs and recommend approaches to obtain these goals. Teams will be expected to give quarterly reports at Staff meetings.
