Chris is a Ph.D. student in the department of entomology. She is an aquatic entomologist and is studying brooding behviors and egg respiration in the giant water bugs for her dissertation research. Her work for Dr. Walker has been varied and has included studying the effects of wastewater on macroinvertebrate assemblages, using aquatic macroinvertebrates as indicators of water permanence for a water rights claim, and studying the affects of forest fire on aquatic systems. She does most of the invertebrate identification for Dr. Walker's lab and is in the process of becoming certified by NABS.
For more information about Chris' water bug research, please see her page on the department of entomology website.
