Cultivating Curiosity

The seeds we plant today help us grow a more sustainable future.

Education. Research. Outreach.

Plants underpin the survival of all life on Earth. We put science to work to provide foundational research and knowledge to support everything from food security to environmental sustainability. From unlocking the secrets of microbes and fungal symbionts to developing drought-tolerant crops and engineering biofuels, our work has real-world impact. We offer invaluable opportunities in and out of the classroom, engaging students in hands-on experiences through state-of-the-art facilities, like the Controlled Environment Agricultural Center (CEAC) and the University of Arizona Herbarium.
