Desert Botanical Garden Internship Funding

The Garden Club of America Award in Desert Studies was established to promote the study of horticulture, conservation and design in arid landscapes. The award, which can be in the form of either an internship or funding for a research-related topic, is for advanced undergraduate and graduate students studying horticulture, conservation, botany, environmental science and landscape design relating to the arid landscape.

Eshraghi Nursery

Eshraghi Nursery is a grower of woody ornamentals, specializing in Japanese maples and grafted conifers. We produce both container and field grown material on 300 acres in Hillsboro, Oregon. We are now offering paid work experience from June to August for students studying agriculture, horticulture or related fields. Our college internship provides hands-on work experience in all areas of nursery production. Work will rotate through all aspects of the nursery: field work (staking and weeding), Shipping, Propagation and Sales (data entry).

Sombrero Stables Wrangler Position

Sombrero Stables is one of the largest guest horse operations in the country, currently running about 1500 head. Sombrero has been around for over 50 years and is still owned by the same family. Each year, several of our stables hire people from around the country to come spend a summer in Colorado working with horses. Each stable takes guests on trail rides in the Rocky Mountains and maintains a herd of up to 150 horses at a time.
