Programs of study (curriculums) in which a student can major and receive educational funding from the Josephine & Benjamin Webber Trusts are listed in this document.

Home Economics
FOODS, NUTRITION AND/OR DIETETICS CURRICULUMS

Dietetics programs prepare students to function in governmental agencies, industry, and in health care facilities as administrative and clinical dieticians, and as food service and dietary consultants. They also prepare students for graduate and professional schools, for careers in the food and food supplement industries, and for technical positions in nutritional research. Some students are successful in being accepted to dental and medical schools upon graduation from these programs.

Nutritional Science with two specializations (BS degree): University of Arizona.

Food and Nutrition (AA degree): Mesa Community College in the Department of Design, Family and Consumer Sciences.

Dietary Manager Certificate: Family & Consumer Sciences Department at Western Arizona College in the Division of Human Services.

Foods and Nutrition AA degree: Glendale Community College.

Dietetic Technology Consortium Program:
Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) and Chandler-Gilbert Community College (CGCC).

Food and Nutrition Certificate Program:
Chandler-Gilbert Community College (CGCC).

Dietary Manager (certificate):

RESTAURANT AND FOOD SERVICE MANAGEMENT CURRICULUMS
Restaurant and Food Service Management programs develop students' professional and technical competence for managing restaurants. In the listing below, many of the qualifying curriculums have the word hotel or hospitality included. Webber recipients must select a plan of study in which the emphasis is restaurant management.

Hospitality AA-2+2 Program with NAUs HRM Department:
Family & Consumer Sciences Department at Western Arizona College in the Division of Human Services.

Hospitality/tourism:
Pima Community College

Hospitality program: Estrella Mountain Community College (Maricopa county)

Hospitality Management program
offered at Scottsdale Community College.

Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Management program and Le Cordon Bleu Hospitality and Restaurant Management program:
Scottsdale Culinary Institute, a for profit institution.

Food Service Administration program:
Phoenix College (in Maricopa County).

Hotel + Motel and Restaurant Management:
Mundus Institute in Phoenix, a for profit institution. Must select the program strongest in restaurant management.

CULINARY ARTS CURRICULUMS

Culinary arts curriculums focus on teaching fundamental cooking, baking, and/or pastry skills to gain employment in bakeries, restaurants, and other catering or institutional settings.

Scottsdale Culinary Institute offers a variety of culinary programs.

FAMILY STUDIES CURRICULUMS

Family studies programs provide an excellent liberal arts education, as well as pre-professional training for those interested in human services, social policy, community and public health, counseling, social work, medicine, gerontology, and criminal justice/law. Students not only study the historical, theoretical, and academic frameworks used to explain human development and family behavior, but also acquire practical knowledge and skills that can be applied in their daily lives and occupations.

Family Studies (FAS) BS major: Department of Family and Human Development at Arizona State University.

Family Studies and Human Development (FSHD) BS major: Department of Family Studies and Human Development at the University of Arizona in the School of Family and Consumer Sciences.

Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) major: Division of Undergraduate Academic Services at Arizona State University in which Family Studies/Child Development is the major component of the program of study.

Family and Consumer Sciences AA degree: Family & Consumer Sciences Department at Western Arizona College in the Division of Human Services.

Family and Consumer Science major: Mesa Community College in the Department of Design, Family and Consumer Sciences.

Child and Family Studies major: Mesa Community College in the Department of Design, Family and Consumer Sciences.

Early Childhood Development Associate of Applied Science degree: Eastern Arizona in Social Sciences Division.

Child and Family Studies certificate program: Chandler-Gilbert Community College.

INTERIOR DESIGN CURRICULUMS

Interior Design programs focus on teaching those skills necessary to create environments (residential/home, business, commercial, as well as those in hospitals and other health care centers) that contribute to the overall well-being of individuals. These curriculums require knowledge and understanding of human needs and desires, architecture, furnishings, and textiles.

APPAREL/CLOTHING CURRICULUMS

Textiles curriculums tend to focus on understanding terminology related to textiles (fibers, yarns, fabrics, and products) and the performance of fabric during end use to assist consumers, retail merchandisers, corporate buyers, and interior designers in selecting appropriate fabrics and textile products for the end use application.

Fashion Merchandising: Westwood College of Technology is a Bachelor degree program offered on-line.
