Origin: Native   Life Cycle: Perennial
General Desc: Has a range of colors, pinkish violet to purple to bluish. Flowers grow on one side of the stem.
Height: To 15 inches


Habitat

Habitat Description: Pine forests and mountain meadows.
Plant Communities: Pinyon Juniper Woodland, Montane Conifer Forest
Elevation: 5000 - 11000 feet


Flower Characteristics

Color: Pale bluish-purple to purple     Shape: Irregular in elongated clusters     Tubular: Y     Flowering Period: Jun - Sep
Description: Flowers to 3/4 inch wide, 1 inch long; along only one side of stem. Leaves 4 inches long.
