YUMA ALUMNI CLUB SCHOLARSHIP The Yuma Alumni Club of the University of Arizona will be awarding Several scholarships for students first registering at the U of A during the 2007-2008 academic year.

Eligibility requirements for these scholarships are: 1. 2007 graduate of the Yuma area high school with a cumulative grade point average (Cum. GPA) of 3.50 or better.

OR
2. Yuma area resident who has attended Arizona Western College after graduating from a Yuma area high and has earned a cumulative grade point average (Cum. GPA) of 3.00 or better after a minimum of 12 credit hours at AWC. Applications will be judged on merit, not financial need. These scholarships have an expected value from $500-$2000 and must be used during the 2007-2008 school year. Recipients will be able to accept this scholarship as well as any scholarship recipient is required to complete at least 12 semester hours with a GPA of 2.5 or better to receive a second semester funds. These scholarships funds will be administered by the UA scholarship office.

Your application packet must be submitted no latter than March 8, 2007 and include the following in this order:
1) Application Form- Do not include a cover page or picture
2) Resume
3) Personal letter of no more than 500 words covering the
following: - major field of study and why (what interests, experiences led to your choice).
- description of your strengths, character, personality traits.
- an experience you've had in your life that you believe will help you be successful.
4) Three letters of recommendation from any adult you are not
related to: teachers, counselors, employers, etc. (DO NOT PUT IN SEALED ENVELOPE).
5) Copy of your transcript (high school PLUS college if any college courses have been taken)
6) Confidential Rating Sheet (MUST BE in sealed and signed envelope).
7) A stampled, self-addressed envelope.

COMPLETED APPLICATIONS ARE BY MARCH 8, 2007- NO LATE OR INCOMPLETE PACKETS WILL BE CONSIDERED!! (see instructions on application page) All applications packets will be screened and finalists scheduled for a personal interview by the committee of the Yuma Alumni Club during April. You will receive a letter by the mid-April indicating whether you are being invited for a personal interview or have been eliminated from the pool of applicatins. If you do not receive notification by that time, please contact your counselor to verify that your application was submitted. If you receive a scholarship you are required to attend the Yuma Alumni Club annual meeting in early May to receive your scholarship award.
