Jim DavisAssociate Vice President, Advancement, Advocacy, Alumni Affairs, & Corporate Relations
As Associate Vice President, Jim’s role is to generate outside support for CALS in the form of major gifts, enhance alumni affairs, and provide constituent groups, such as Ag 100, with information on areas where the college needs support. A large part of Jim’s position involves traveling with unit heads and Dean Burgess, to meet with donors and friends, to update them on all the exciting things happening in CALS. Jim enjoys helping to make people’s dreams come true and the tremendous satisfaction and fulfillment donors receive from making a difference for students and faculty. One thing he would like alumni to know is gifts of any size to the college make a difference and are very much valued. Jim was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised in Western Springs, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. He is married with two daughters, one stepdaughter and one granddaughter. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in marketing from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Jim has worked at the University of Arizona for the last 12 years. Prior to coming to the UA he was the Senior VP of Marketing for Quality Stores, a farm store chain of 130 stores based in Michigan. He also served as one of the owners of the store chain and held a seat on the board of directors.
