Professional Achievement 2004 - Linda M. Block

Linda completed her B.S. in Economics at the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh and her M.S. in Family and Consumer Sciences at the University of Arizona. She is an Associate Agent in Family and Consumer Sciences/Community Health Promotion Programs with the U of Arizona, Pima County Cooperative Extension, Tucson. Linda’s primary area of expertise is to provide educational assistance aimed at increasing the effectiveness of adults and families in solving their own problems and å improving the quality of their lives. She has state leadership responsibilities for Money Management Programs and Grandparents Raising Grandchildren. She serves on the Boards of Take Charge America Institute for Consumer Financial Education and Research and Arizona Saves.

Linda has used her knowledge, compassion, commitment and values to help unknown numbers of individuals and families around Pima County, Arizona and the Nation to improve their lives. As co-coordinator with the Pima County Community Health Advancement Partnership, she serves as a liaison between Cooperative Extension and the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health, local public and private organizations, and groups to plan and implement collaborative Community Health Programs. Programs where Linda has taken leadership responsibilities include: Living Well, Bone Builders, Osteoporosis Prevention, Walk Across Arizona, Master Consumer Advisors, Money 2000+ and Financial Security in Later Life. Whether it is teaming up on a state committee, presenting a workshop, or a phone call asking for her assistance, Linda is the ultimate professional who can be counted on to do her part and more. Her passion, attention to details, and willingness to take charge to move a project from vision to action is remarkable.
