Young Achiever Award 2005 - Kellie Marlin

Kellie Marlin graduated from the University of Arizona in 2001 with a degree in Retailing and Consumer Science. Kellie was involved in Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) and served as an ambassador for the Terry J. Lundgren Center for Retailing. Kellie served as project manager for SIFE’s Credit Wise Cats project in its very first year. She is one of the reasons that Take Charge America is a major underwriter today! It was Kellie who made the first trip to Phoenix with the idea that the credit education project could be of interest to the Phoenix-based debt management company. She certainly was right. Kellie was the leader of the International Marketplace project at Vail Middle School which received national recognition as a model project. She also served on the SIFE presentation team, when the team made it to the Elite Eight in Kansas City.

In 2001 Kellie joined the Enterprise team as a Management trainee. Very soon she was promoted to a Management Assistant in rental. Unexpectedly she received an opportunity to become a Remarketing Assistant in fleet services. Within a year she was promoted to a Remarketing Supervisor where she is currently working in the company today. She is proud that in a very short time, she has increased the current buyer base by 56%. She continues to serve her community by getting involved with special Enterprise projects as the Rebuilding Together project, where she helped paint and rebuild the home of an elderly woman. She participates in the recruitment of college students and career fairs at several institutions, including her alma mater! Kellie has received three promotions in just four years with Enterprise Rent A Car. She credits her involvement in U of A SIFE and with the Terry J. Lundgren Center for Retailing Ambassadors as a large part of her success. She says she learned great leadership skills, and developed outstanding experiences for her resume while a Retailing and Consumer Sciences student.
