Professional Achievement 2005 - Louise Renneckar

Louise received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Child Development and Family Relations from the U of A in 1974. She continued further studies in Counseling and Guidance until moving to Saudi Arabia to help her husband with a new company. Louise taught Child Care in Pima County 4-H for 20 years and developed the program to accommodate interested students who wanted to go beyond basic instruction. Using her Child Development degree, she expanded the program, wrote curriculum and created more opportunities for county and state fair projects. She promoted the program, recruited leaders to teach the project, volunteered in county fair food booths, helped with receptions, and award days. She served as a member of the Pima County Leaders Board. Many summers were spent teaching a babysitting program in the Pima County Library System. If Louise could assign a dollar value to every hour of her various volunteer positions over the years she could take early retirement!

The Amphi School District benefitted from her 14 years of service, helping with book and magazine sales, serving on community councils, the superintendent’s advisory councils, strategic planning and interview committees, PTO and soccer booster clubs. She wrote the community section for the A+ school award applications. The Town of Oro, Valley benefitted from her work on a traffic study and the environmentally sensitive lands committee. She served as President of the Pusch Ridge Estates Homeowners Association for 12 years. When not overseeing land based obligations she is an 18-year volunteer for the Tucson Sailing Club serving as commodore and chair of the club store and membership committees. Louise has been an active member of the Council for the past six years. She always brings excellent ideas and enthusiasm to committees and events to make the School the best it can be.
