Alexandria S. Pech is a doctoral student in the Norton School of Family and Consumer Sciences at the University of Arizona. Her doctoral research is accountable to children, youth, and families impacted by parental & familial incarceration. Specifically, Alexandria’s dissertation centers adolescent Girls of Color experiencing familial incarceration by using counterstories to understand identity formation at the intersection of race, class, and gender. Alexandria is also a ReFraming Justice Leader with American Friends Service Committee AZ and an Actionist leader with We Got Us Now.  

Her research interests are centered on:

  • Adolescent development among youth of color, particularly youth with incarcerated parents
  • Youth Participatory Action Research 
  • Critical Race and Intersectionality Theoretical Frameworks
  • Counterstory methodology
