A still from an interview between UArizona President Robbins and WRRC Sharon Megdal

Robert C. Robbins speaks with Environmental Science professor Sharon Megdal, Director of the Water Resources Research Center at the University of Arizona, about the Colorado River Basin's water crisis and the future of our state.

Megdal explains that our water crisis will not be solved by any one action. It will take a multi-faceted approach beginning with all of us being informed – knowing where our water comes from, knowing who makes water policies and what those policies are, and what we can do in our daily lives to conserve water.

A Cooperative Extension center and a research unit in CALES, the WRRC is the designated state water resources research center established under the 1964 Federal Water Resources Research Act.

The WRRC conducts water policy research and analysis, and its information transfer activities include publications, conferences, lectures, and seminars. Water news and information are provided to the academic community, water professionals, elected and appointed officials, students and the public.
