Environmental Virology/Cell Culture Laboratory

The environmental virology/cell culture lab provides cell culture support for research conducted by Dr. Charles Gerba. We provide all viruses used in the various research projects, as well as analytical services for enteric virus of environmental samples. We also provide training in all these areas to students, and research scientists from around the world involved in the environmental sciences. Patricia Gundy is a research specialist serving as the laboratory manager since January 2000. She received her Bachelors of Science degree in 1989 from the University of Arizona in Microbiology and Immunology. Pat has 15 years experience in laboratory sciences and in currently completing her Masters degree in Environmental Science. (Pictured on the left is Kayla Carpenter, a grad student)
