"Backyard Bird Language" & Workshop

Primary tabs

Many people truly enjoy bird watching, either in the wild or the comfort of their own gardens.  Usually, the emphasis is on the variety and identification of the birds.  But did you ever wonder what communication was involved in all the chirping and singing?  Sam Hardt, Cochise County Master Gardener and Wildlife enthusiast, will present a discussion on "Bird Language" during the first half of our event.

Then, in the second half of the event, we'll have a "hands-on" workshop where we'll be making different recipes of bird suet cakes ... and in different shapes and sizes.  Not only are they fun and efficient for feeding healthy nutrition to the birds, but they also make great gifts for birders.

Participants will be going home with all products they make in the class, plus a bird suet cage for holding a suet cake.

This workshop is free of charge for our community.

Pre-Registration is required to ensure sufficient handouts and supplies for all participants.
