Exclosure Transect Measurement Protocols
The protocols provided below for download refer to measurements for cover and density of perennial grasses, shrubs, and cacti, and perennial grass basal diameter on 96 permanent 1x100-ft. belt transects located in 22 livestock exclosures on the Santa Rita Experimental Range (SRER). The protocols list the sequence of operations to perform the measurements in each exclosure transect and provide background information.
The Exclosure Transect Data that have been collected following those protocols include all measures of cover, density, and/or biomass by species made on those transects since they were established in 2011.
